Block I - Capacity Building

Objectives

Target Market & Demand

  • Development and implementation of an adapted capacity building approach for the SADC target region for all relevant stakeholder groups [industry (value chain, grid operators, off-takers], universities, authorities and ministries, etc.)
    • Demand analysis and capacity building and expansion in South Africa and neighboring countries (SADC region)
    • Demand assessment for training and advanced education in the region  


Education & Training

  • Development, internationalization and adaptation of advanced training content and formats on hydrogen and wind energy for different target groups
    • Development of new training formats and creation of teaching material as well as evaluation of the teaching concepts in a face-to-face workshop in South Africa.
    • Training with a focus on coupling solar systems + electrolysis
    • Provision of methodological and didactic skills for the development and application of international training and education modules


Sustainable R&D Cooperation

  • Establishment of networking activities with South African hydrogen centers, Linde University Afrox in South Africa and industrial partners with the need for capacity building
  • Initiation of new research collaborations with a focus on Block III technology innovations in other SADC target countries in the region, including Namibia and Mozambique
  • Development of project concepts and a joint research roadmap by contributing specific scientific and technological know-how, in particular on barrier layers and hydrogen sensor technology


Knowhow Transfer

  • Identification and involvement of stakeholders and validation of the concept via piloting with participants from the region
    • Organization of stakeholder dialog symposia, the joint events with the South African partner network
